my haircut lady always postpones our appointments, and it's the best feeling when she does!

latest updates to the "simplify gmail" browser extension are 😚👌 — the bundles, the saved searches, the little touches like not showing attachments in the list unless i'm *looking* for attachments, etc. youtube.com/watch?v=CM5hVyzRm4

Saw this map posted on another network and it helped me realize some things I'd never appreciated before, which is just how whopping huge the agricultural part of California is, and, related, just how bowl-like the topography is. Really fascinating. #Maps #California

tried on some glasses at the antique market and found my new look!

buried my friend and former bandmate michael nicholson on thursday. he had cancer back when we recorded the salvation navy, and was clear of it a decade ago. but it came back with a vengeance.

died last friday at hospice in brantford. left behind a wife and 9 year old child. brutal stuff.

here’s some old photos with both of us! (he’s in the red toque, hugging me from behind in the first one)

in one of my dreams last night, i was talking about playlists with someone using spotify and they asked me if there was such a thing as "apple itunes music" anymore. so i gave a breakdown of spotify vs. apple music. i still remember the specific points i made too. yikes

helped @whateveryouart move a couch to his art studio in a snow squall today. not the heaviest nor the longest, but probably the biggest thing i’ve put in the kei truck so far!

some of the music streaming services do have clean versions of albums, which i appreciate. but no video streaming services? i know multiple people whose dads hand-censored their VHS movies so the kids could watch too, and dads are still dads, so seems like there'd be demand

remember how in the 90s they had "clean" versions of movies with the sex scenes and/or worst swears taken out? i actually wish that still existed.

also seems like a service current AI could cheaply provide en masse (though the legal barriers would be large, i expect)

took my son to a brantford bulldogs vs soo greyhounds hockey game, accidentally got standing room tickets. and actually, pretty great! might prefer it to actual seats!

got a walking desk and at the moment it’s being put to the task with a 3km poppy hill challenge for the boy

found out about the voyager via this guy's video: m.youtube.com/watch?v=dg2TT1OJ

the magnetic accessories seem like a great idea. i've got a pretty nice setup already with quick release tripod mounts, but if i were starting over, this does seem like the ticket.

i've been using a moonlander the last few months and have gotten pretty used to it. i actually do use multiple keys on both thumb clusters, but they *are* too far from the rest of the keyboard for me, so i adopted a weird layout w/ the keys shifted inwards ("b" on thumb cluster)
