@Ilsa
Nice.
borosilicate or "soft?"

I'd wonder if optimizing for reach would somehow change what I posted. <shrug> Since I don't, it can't. ;-)
@freemo
Ah, that would explain it.
@freemo
Haven't seen Rob_G for a few days. Strange given his posting volume.
@freemo @snow
I don't follow. You believe you would have less engagement if you didn't know the number of followers?
@freemo @snow
Interesting thought experiment: Not knowing how many follow you.
Still be able to follow people. Still know how many and whom you follow, but not know how many follow you. The only thing I can think that affects at all is the ego.
@Heaven9999
Jesus says, [the Kingdom of] "Heaven is within," so...
"God" is not "a" being, but the sum of all consciousness. Most people tend to anthropomorphize it, but that limits it to having human emotions and motivations. I prefer to call the divine by the name Universe to forestall that sort of thing.
Time is an illusion so "future" is just a construct we use as we drive these meat machines around.
How's that for thoughts?
@freemo @snow
There are plenty of people to be social with, even having zero followers.
In the days of Usenet, the original social media that was never called that, there wasn't any such thing as a "follow" yet people managed to have conversations and debates... sometimes going on for months, all without anyone following anyone.
I think there's more to wanting followers than just wanting to be social... certainly it has to do with external validation, very nearly alluded to by snow... and yet, external validation comes without followers also.
@freemo @snow
I've never been able to figure out why people desire followers. Personally, I couldn't care less whether I have 0 followers or a million... except that I might feel obligated to reply more if I had more followers. Seems a negative rather than a positive.
Insight?
@freemo @greylaw89
Don't recall an astronaut connection, but maybe Carnation Instant Breakfast?
@freemo
I'm taking the test right now. I suspect we may be in the same quadrant.
@freemo
Seems at odds with your stance that taxpayers should pay for libraries.
@greylaw89 @freemo
Space Food Sticks jumps to my mind, but you might need to be a boomer to remember them.
Does Consciousness Pervade the Universe?

I'm voting something else, but I might be pro nuke.
I like nuke, but not the behemoths currently in use. I like the idea of the "town size" ones... probably thorium though I haven't studied up enough to say for sure yet.
