@shuttersparks Earth is large, but our atmosphere isn't very thick. Scary if that were to disappear.

@marathon0 Yes. The continued existence of our atmosphere depends on our star behaving itself. On the other hand, since our atmosphere has been here for a billion years, we know that our sun is very steady and stable. The sun has active periods and occasional outbursts but nothing that would strip away the atmosphere.

My understanding is that pollution can/may destroy our atmosphere. Isn't that what's causing Global Warming, a thining of our atmosphere? Simplistic but you get the gist.
