Hey people. I have a yellow and I am really not a fan of using yellow ink. Do I swap it out to a yellow highlighter (also not my favourite colour) or look for a "yellow adjacent" i.e. orange ink that I can use instead. I will be using them mostly for marking/annotating student work. Because the pen itself is a yellow plastic it will do my head in if a yellow coloured pen writes with a (example) purple ink.

@jellycrystals Hmm, quite a problem. Red and green are adjacent to yellow but not blue / purple. Seems that red, orange, yellow green or green wouldn't be too jarring from a yellow pen.

@jellycrystals Maybe you could skooch a little closer to yellow with a yellowish green. Lol.

The nice thing about FPs is it's easy to change colors.

@jellycrystals Yeah, sepia is a great choice. I should have thought of that. Duh. Yellow and brown are actually the same color, just different brightnesses. So brown from a yellow pen is perfectly natural. ;-)

I know a lot of people who like Diamine inks. I'm a Noodlers person. Noodlers has some nice browns if you're looking for a waterproof or bulletproof ink for marking school papers.

@shuttersparks I want to try Noodlers but they are $30 a bottle in AUD which is a little high for my price point.

@jellycrystals Ouch. Although you can spend over $20 US for a bottle of Noodlers if you don't care. The going price here these days is $14 US. On the other hand, Noodlers bottles are big, 3 ounces, and filled all the way to the top. It takes a while to go through 3 ounces. And my standard ink is a Noodlers but diluted 5 cc ink to 4 cc distilled water, giving the color and shading I like. So I get 5-plus ounces of ink for $14.

@shuttersparks Just checked prices again, $23 (currently on sale)-$50 for a bottle. I went with Diamine 80ml for $16.95... I will just put Noodlers on my birthday list so someone else can buy me one.

@jellycrystals Wow. That's spendy for ink. I wonder if there's an import tax on stuff like that. It might be considered a luxury item. Hah. No, no, it's just INK, like for writing, you know?

@shuttersparks 1 AUD buys 61c USD for starters.. + imports and then online only so + postage...

@jellycrystals Yeah, I was taking the exchange rate into consideration. Containerized international shipping is super cheap nowadays so I was wondering why the big price markup. Maybe it's just because they can get away with it. Hahaha. Captive market.
