X wasn't banned in Brazil because of censorship. It was because Musk refused to abide by a court order to block accounts linked to the invasion of the Brazilian Parliament, Supreme Court and Presidential Palace in 2023. Musk preferred to close his Brazilian offices instead of helping to catch those who tried to overthrow a democratic elected government. If someone tells you otherwise, they're either dishonest or misinformed.

@ScottLucas If the West is willing to provide sufficient weaponry / firepower for Ukraine to make a meaningful impression on the Rus, then I'm all for it.
I want to see most all Russian oil refineries, power generation plants, and weapons manufacturing plants destroyed. Sad and unfortunate as it would be, I want to see the precious ancient Kremlin reduced to rubble. I want to see the dachas of Russian billionaires destroyed.
This would be a start. If the Russians are unhappy with this and wish to press the issue, more can be done until their attitude improves or the worthless land they chose to settle on long ago is converted to molten sand. Maybe, in time, the Rus may learn to join the rest of the human species and abandon the antisocial behaviors they've exhibited for the past 600 years.
So yeah, I'm all for this.
Is there no end to this? Why is it GOP 98 percent of the time? Why does today's GOP attract criminals? I'll tell you why.
Thieves, grifters, child molesters, fraudsters, seem to think that the GOP stands for law and order, religion, morality. So if I say I'm a Republican / MAGA person I'll get a free pass. No one will suspect.

I subscribe to Hunter Thompson's vision, “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! @futurebird The last few gens of super awesome tape players were marvels of technology.
I definitely have zero plans to switch to tape, but I remember how small the difference with CDs was at their apex.
If only they had been allowed to keep destroying the recording industry just a little bit longer.

@Pepper It's been clear for a long time that Vance, or whatever he calls himself, is a head-case, maladjusted, disoriented, deranged. He needs to be in treatment, not milling about with the rest of society -- but we don't do that anymore. So just ignore him and don't be surprised at anything he says.

So my company has officially announced plans to cash out most of the operation I work for and I'm probably going to either get downsized out or wind up being the last one keeping the lights lit on a sinking ship, which I would very much rather not do.
Anyone looking for a multi skilled RF/electronics/IT technician whose entire industry was just pulled from under them and thrown down the grinder to sell for scrap? I would say broadcast engineer, but that's pretty much obsolete now.

It can happen here and it is happening here. Reading this book along with The Handmaid’s Tale and comparing recent and current events and it’s easy to see where we are headed. The genocide of Trans people is already well under way and queers and drag queens will be targeted as well. Add immigrants and other scapegoats and soon you’ll have to ask: “who will be left to speak for me?”
When fascism comes to America it will be hugging the flag and autographing Bibles.
