Whoever it is, they’re not making the same case about Trump. That’s the tell. Taken in totality, Trump’s age, mental incoherence, demonstrated incompetence, moral depravity, criminal record, electoral failure, and outright •fascism• give far more reason for him to drop out.

Whoever’s pulling the strings of the NYT and its ilk, they are very clearly pulling in one specific direction. Think twice about whether you want to help them pull.

Full darkness now, still nothing. This is crazy, creepy.

Funny thing this year. Fireworks are legal here including the bigger stuff. Every year I've lived here in West Virginia, the fireworks start up at least a week before the 4th and continue after. Every night bang, bang, fizz. Except not this year. Nightfall on July 3rd and still silence. This is very weird and I have no explanation for it.

Many interesting threads in this one. How efficiency, even in farming, not only relies on high complexity supply chains, but also impoverishes the end users (in this case farmers). Or how consolidation and monopolization of farming exacerbate the urban - rural divide.

@MastodonEngineering While I realize the U.S. isn't the entire world, the decision to release this information and update on a major U.S. holiday when many administrators may not be in a position to act promptly seems somewhat problematic.

We really do live in the dumbest fucking timeline for shit like this to be a thing and I hate it.

No no no, SCOTUS. Do NOT try to quote Alexander Hamilton to support this horrendous immunity decision.

Hamilton's Federalist No. 77 *SPECIFICALLY* cites "prosecution in the common course of law" as a check on the president.

And you amateur historians just ignored it.

"Original intent" my ass. You're making it up as you go, in whatever way suits you.

Sorry but I don't want an America that is ultimately being controlled by The Heritage Foundation, the Southern Baptist Convention, a bunch of NRA gun wielding nut jobs, psychopath anti-feminists, incels, Russian & Chinese tankies, QAnon conspiracy lunatics, neo-confederates, and billionaires who want massive tax cuts

@AmishSuperModel No, the constitution is very clear on this: absent impeachment, the Justices serve till they retire or die.

But as the Court has just ruled, Biden can with immunity speed along that last option.

Dear DoJ - Perhaps it's time to reconsider all those RUSSIA PROSECUTIONS that were allowed to slide. The current crime spree is a direct result of the former.

And maybe it's time to dig a little deeper into what makes a pro-Putin Republican so pro-Putin...

@GottaLaff They want chaos. That way Trump can declare a coup and martial law right now.

I wonder if Biden would be immune from
Prosecution if he zeroed out $ for Trump’s secret service contingent, reassigned all of them and then prosecuted Tony Ornato along with the rest of the Secret Service MAGAts. Just a thought #SCOTUS

@lovelylovely @SuperSpaceFan

And an ambush for the convicted criminals opponent.

This will not end well for them. Their complicity is beginning to be called out.

CNN is flummoxed, foundering, and ruderless. They might has well have had Vanna White at the debate, pointing to the next question. The Times is broken. The Post is being invaded from within. Murdoch's empire has been successful at its insurrectionist mission. Sinclair is accessory to that crime. Hedge funds control most newspaper chains. News media are a dire disaster and, no, it's not a crisis of business. It is a crisis of mission.

Colorado passes first law in US to protect privacy from mind-reading tech:

It doesn't do everything I think it should, but it's a start.
I believe US should have a constitutional amendment banning ALL non-consensual use of mind-reading tech, guaranteeing that we have unlimited personal privacy if our mental state and memories. In other words, a court (or govt in general) could not order a person to submit to fMRI, for example, as a lie detector, or for any other purpose.
