Trying out this setup for at least the rest of December for maximum #Bitcoin signal:

- No YouTube; bitcointv.com instead
- No Twitter; bitcoinhackers.org instead
- No Reddit/HN/Lobste.rs; stacker.news instead

My only concern about this is the content/discussions that I'll miss on Twitter that aren't posted here. There's a lot of noise there, but occasionally some great discussions that I learn a lot from.

Always strange to me when I see people bitching about twitter (while on twitter), yet they don't care to hear about alternatives like mastodon. It's like they keep expecting twitter to be something it's not, but the idea of leaving or even simply trying something else just doesn't compute.

Folks making alternatives: don’t recreate the systems of closed, centralised silos. They’re designed with the needs and success criteria of closed, centralised organisations. You cannot compete with them on their own terms. They have the resources to create centralised workflows, you do not. And your success criteria are the opposite of theirs. You do not want to centralise information, power, and wealth. Think about where your strengths lie and design from first principles according to those.
