TEXT from link:
Q: On March 24, NATO Heads of State and Government issued a joint statement after extraordinary Summit, in which NATO leaders called on all states, including China, to uphold the international order including the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as enshrined in the UN Charter, to abstain from supporting Russia’s war effort, and to refrain from any action that helps Russia circumvent sanctions. They are also concerned that China is engaged in amplifying Russia’s false narratives. The above-mentioned position was reiterated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the press conference. What’s your response?

A: We have noted NATO leaders’ joint statement and relevant remarks. We firmly oppose such groundless accusations and suspicions, as well as any attempts to exert coercion and pressure against China. We feel it necessary to remind NATO once again to have a thorough and accurate understanding of China’s longstanding and consistent position. China maintains that the sovereign independence and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, and that the purposes and principles of the UN Charter be upheld. Since the crisis broke out in Ukraine, China has been working actively and constructively in an objective and impartial manner, to facilitate peace talks, the cessation of conflicts, as well as the avoidance of a large-scale humanitarian crisis. Time will prove that China is on the right side of history. In the meantime, what NATO has done? Anyone without prejudice would come to a fair conclusion.

As a Cold War remnant and the world’s largest military alliance, NATO follows an outdated security concept. It has been expanding its geographical scope and range of operations and using Cold War tactics to provoke bloc rivalry. We must stay on high alert and say no to a “new Cold War”, which goes against the trend of history and the aspirations of people around the world. It is worth noting that 23 years ago, on March 24, 1999, NATO bombs fell on the ground of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, causing thousands of casualties including Chinese citizens, and displacing hundreds of thousands. The lessons of history must not be forgotten. NATO needs to have a good reflection on itself, reject the Cold War mentality, and seek to build a balanced, effective and sustainable European security architecture through dialogue and negotiation under the principle of indivisible security.

Concerning such accusations as China amplifying false narratives, they are made by those who fan the flames to stir up troubles. Lies shall always remain lies, and what is false cannot become true.

@Coyote fuck me, shots fired and right on the money

@NBS So in the end I went for "Economics in One Lesson" by Hazlitt and "Principles of Microeconomics" by Mankiw - I could use a bit more background before delving into the specifics of markets.

I'll let you know if they're any good.

@sir_blake @tout_court geeze, clot shot as a punishment for gaffes is a fresh kind of hell
