@skells David Stockman: "By the time the 12 years of the Reagan-Bush administrations has elapsed, the national debt had reached $4.3 trillion, and was now 4 times the size of national debt that Carter had left behind... [deficit spending] was a political choice that changed the policy landscape forever. The Reagan-Bush deficits amounted to 3 times the average deficit that had been accrued during peacetime by FDR, Truman, Kennedy-Johnson and Carter, combined." bullionvault.com/gold-news/rea

@jeffcliff @11112011 what's their leverage?sell the debt and crash the markets?

@jeffcliff @11112011 yeah China hoovered up the debt also, never understood the reasoning for them to do that though

they call it trickle down economics because a gentle stream would cause hyperinflation

@jeffcliff @11112011 yeah upon reflection this is wild - the fact that inflation has been relatively low while the money supply has expanded so much tells you everything you need to know about where the 1% are making bank, literally

@jeffcliff @11112011 also apparantly historical trend is ~6%

lol

lmao

@jeffcliff @11112011 supply *growth*, none of those dollars have been destroyed afaik

@sim
"Hitherto, man has been the man of the future in embryo, so to speak - all the forces for development in that direction can be found in him; and because the forces are prodigious, for the modern individual, the more he determines the future, the more he will suffer. This is the deepest view of suffering: the forces for development get in each other's way.

"We must not be deceived by the isolation of the individual - in truth, some tendency deeper than these individuals continuously runs through them. The individual may feel isolated, but that part of the process serves as the most powerful spur towards the most distant aims: it is his pursuit of his own happiness that tempers these forces and gives them coherence so that they do not destroy each other."

- §686, The Will to Power, Friedrich Nietzsche

@sim a certain amount of loneliness and isolation is necessary for individuals, i.e. those for whom conformity to the culture that surrounds them is not enough.

if you try to define your social relationships on those terms it's always going to be something of a vicious circle

@tri@digitalcourage.social @jwildeboer is argue there's more evidence for damage caused by the vaccines than damage caused by long covid, particularly amongst children

@jwildeboer might have something to do with the myocarditis and the fact that healthy children have little to fear from covid
