They made a Minecraft mod that transcript and translates player's voice chat in real-time.

That's a wonderful mod, and I want to know how expensive the mod is.

The mod itself will be open-sourced, but Dream said it uses Google's API to do that. I don't use GCP because they don't have a good connection in China. But I do use AWS, and AWS is not cheap.

I would hope the price of those essential services would be cheaper and cheaper, allowing more and more developers to be able to mess around with them without worrying about the expensive bill.

I would hope those cloud services can roll out something like X USD per month, including Y hours of transcription and Z characters of translation, for individual or non-commercial usage. Once you use all of your resources in a month, your request will be downgraded in priority.

For some context:

I work 8 hours a day as an intern and got paid 29.05 USD per day. While in USA, The average java developer intern salary is $22.27 per hour (said google).

For Americans, the price might be super cheap, but certainly not for us :ablobgrimace:

Especially I spent USD and EUR for all of my servers. Earning CNY and spending USD is not a happy thing to enjoy.

@skyblond Don't worry, chatgpt will soon take care of low programming wages....
