In the last two days, I was trying to decide between the Samsung S23 and the S23+. Watched some reviews on YouTube.

Now YouTube puts 8 videos about those phones on my home page. That's kinda stupid.

"Given your ML experience"

Do I? I mean, I do have some ML experience if playing with MNIST counts😂

Tried to write an app for my newly bought thermal printer and figure out how to integrate it with the Memento database...

... without any knowledge about android development.

Just finished the main activity and the setting page.

My browser knew how hard it is, LOL.

But, yeah, xml-free is so great.

Accidentally watched this Quentin movie.

I didn't know it's rated as restricted until at the end of the movie it told me so.

I watched Pulp Fiction with my friend before, and like that movie, this is a very entertaining production. But unlike Pulp Fiction, this one makes me not that comfortable with the violence. More specifically, the scalp.

It is worth 150 minutes of my life, but not another 150 minutes.

I hate when I'm so easy to be predicted.

But, damn, he is right.

How on earth the AI knows I want the container's id has the prefix of "B"?

I deliberately used the word "container" instead of the word "box".

How???

(From the reaction, you may know this is my first time trying AI copilot, I mean, AWS code whisper)

Why does everything need a waitlist now?

It seems like JetBrains created a new tool called Grazie, which works like Grammarly, but also offers auto completion and other features.

(Now the AIs want to control how we talk! LOL)

Anyway, they have a wait list too. And you know what? I got acceded almost immediately after I enrolled the wait list.

Then why setup the wait list in the first place? Why use a waitlist if not too many people are whelming in your product?

Fig 1 is the result, printed with density 1, while fig 2 is printed with density 0 without interlacing. And fig 3 is what the result should be in theory.

You solve one issue, and introduced another one.

Interlacing is a good way to ease printhead overheating. When printing 10101 in a row, you might got 5 black dot (11111) because the overheating.

By printing the same picture multiple times, each time printing part of it, overheating can be greatly controlled.

However, there is no way to control the movement of the paper. The mechanic part is, hmmm, not designed for this usage.

Curves tool is so powerful, almost saved the day.

Also, I love gimp, where you can export almost every settings into plain text.

I export this curve to a file and has no issue on understanding them. Much better than Photoshop.

Tried gimp for image processing.

The printer really want to print black, even light gray will become black.

Despite I know I bought a label/sticker printer, I still want it to amaze me by letting it prints something with super precision.

But the fact is no. It's just a label printer, and it can only print labels.

I thought I can print grey pictures with it.

(During my testing, I found that this printer really struggled at control the temperature. It has some degrees of print density, but definitely can't do the gray picture.)
