ok, apparently there is a mod called CraftTweaker, which don't requires you to write json by hand.

Great.

@trinsec BTW I'd prefer fabric for the sake of my RAM 😂

@trinsec And quilt. quiltmc.org/

One thing I don't like forge is they don't have support for older version of minecraft. They basically force you to be on the latest and they leaves a lot of self-developed code undocumented. I'd still think fabric is the ultimate way to go if other people willing to rewrite their mod loader based on fabric. Hope they can figure this out.

@trinsec I think it's ok, the incompatible starts from 1.20.2

hmmmm, so someone decide to fork forge and become neoforge. Now the neoforge is not compatible with the old forge. Considering we still have fabric, now every popular mod has to build for 4 different mod loaders.

Why?? I think fabric is a very light weight mod loader and I think most the work from forge can be built on fabric.

@trinsec Wait, look what I found: curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mo

Sinytra Connector is a compatibility layer that allows running Fabric mods on MinecraftForge.

@trinsec Miss the good old times where I can install two mod loaders and everything works fine.

@trinsec It's only support NeoForge since 1.20. Wondering what is that, sounds like a fork of forge.

But I don't want to write json in a text editor. I want to write code that generate those json for me :blobcatevil:

Apparently I'm too old for the new stuff. There is a thing called data pack, where you can just write json and add new recipes to the game, that works for mods too.

I wonder if there is any mod that makes the resources renewable, maybe using Create, where you can wash sand to get some ore with very low chance, etc. I think I saw something similar in one of the ilmango series.

Tried growable ore, it's simply too OP.

@trinsec I generally don't want to go that hard core in game. Create mod is a kinda easy version of industrial mods to me and didn't add tons of new things that I have no idea about where to start.

@trinsec In my current run I plan to use create mod to get some location-specific resource, like clay, you can get it by washing crashed gold ore. Definitely going to make them automatic in the end game.

@trinsec I think Mystical Agriculture is too OP, which basically means I can get some material and then plant them infinitely.
