oh no, I can't taste.

I spent the whole day in bed, switching between sleep, awake and feeling tired but can't sleep. So didn't eat anything until now. I ordered burger king, but suddenly noticed my taste is no longer working. Covid tried 4 times but didn't take down my taste, flu did it at first time. Good job.

Also, for another comparison, my friend (the one who gave me the flu) had fever for more than 24 hours. And only after he went to the hospital and take oseltamivir, his fever is under control. Also based on my previous flu and covid experience, usually it takes days for my immune system to get virus under control.

I start taking oseltamivir as soon as I feel the fever, and my temperature go back to normal in less than 24 hours. So, yeah, this is amazing.

Every time I get sick, I'm amazed by modern medicine (by medicine, I mean the science used to prevent, treat, or cure diseases and illnesses).

Yesterday afternoon I started feeling dizzy, and my fever reached 38.9C last night. I started taking oseltamivir (Tamiflu) at 5 PM yesterday. I woke up with a fever of 38.5C at 4 AM this morning, so I took another oseltamivir tablet. My temperature is now 37.1C, and I feel like the fever has basically subsided. (Although my nose and throat have not yet recovered, and I feel tired and weak from time to time)

I really didn't expect two things: first, I didn't expect the flu to be so contagious; second, I didn't expect oseltamivir to be so effective. I love modern medicine.

In comparison, ibuprofen only bring down my temperature by 0.4C. Although ibuprofen is also a good medicine/drug, it only covers the symptoms, not the root cause. The oseltamivir stops the virus from spreading in your body, which fundamentally stop the infection, or stop the growth of the infection. This is amazing.

Spent the weekend to take care of my friend, who has FluA and fever, and ibuprofen can't bring down the temperature, so we went to the hospital. Now he is feeling much better, but I guess now it's my turn.

Hopefully it's the same FluA, not something else I picked up in the hospital.

well, based on my blog post, there are several fun things, but they fun differently. For example, jailbreak my kindle is fun, but all I need to do is to follow others instructions, and the fun only last for several days (but I do enjoy reading on it). This is the minor fun because you don't put in much effort, and you don't get much fun out of it.

There are also things like exploring solutions, like the workflow for post processing photos, or build a cdn using blackblaze b2 and cloudflare worker. This is the middle fun. You need to set up something, the the community and companies covers your back. You need to figure out something, but the core thing is already there. Just use it for free or paid.

The best fun, like exploring steganography, or write an android app that use udp broadcast for voice chat. Things like this requires me to build something from scratch. It's hard, require a lot of efforts, sometimes it doesn't work. But if it works, it's proudly fun (fun and I'm proud of it).

Now I understand why there a lot of people love building things from scratch.

Ordered a cassette player from We Are Rewind (yes, this is the brand name). Despite the low quality head, it offers stero recordings. So naturally I would like to store some data on it. I own a LTO 6 type drive so I know this gonna be a hard thing to do. But it's fun.

I asked AI, start with fldigi. In one conversation, it said MFSK128 is great for tape. On another one it said anything beyond 4 MFSK will be a nightmare on cassette. Lol

I guess my first step would be implement the KCS at 300 baud rate, that will be my base line. Then I'll try fsk and mfsk. I know the mfsk in fldigi contains a bunch of error corrections stuff. Never got them in the college, hopeful I can implement them this time.

This side project sounds so fun. When do I have such interesting ideas last time?

I just figured out that if I give up my instinct of trying to get everything under control, I will have a much better mood when facing some (actually many) situations. After I accepted that something just happened, and I can't change it, the frustration and the sad mood that haunt me all day just suddenly disappeared.

So the next question will be: why do I instinctively want to control everything, even sometimes to the point of being aggressive? Is it just me have some mental issues or it's a common thing for some people?

Met some new birds during the weekend. This weekend my friend dropped by and we went to a wetland park.

Most of the time, I enjoy the silence of being along since that's how I lived in the past year after I moved to Kunming. But apparently spending time with friends and hanging out is also super enjoyable.

Well, I just deleted a post because the photo contains something I don't expect to include. I figured that out because I throw that photo to gemini and ask it to make some comment based on what it sees in the photo.

Kinda being surprised by it since the last time I was using llama3.1-vision, it can't focus on any details.

From now on I'll review carefully on the photo I post publicly. Don't want anyone to easily doxxing me LOL

Also about my kindle: I use it for reading for the most of the time. Although I get java working on it, it is just too slow...

This is so good! So wonderful! I'm so moved.

How can there be such a captivating story? I really love the characters. Every time I read a book like this, I can't help but feel two emotions: a deep, irresistible love for it, and a sense of regret that it's all gone now. Books can be reread, like movies; perhaps each time you read them, you'll gain new insights. But only the first time will you experience that initial feeling of being a newcomer, gradually becoming engrossed, and finally, realizing how it all made sense.

This book is so well-written; I want to be buried with it when I die.

This is the 9th volume of Spice and Wolf. The novel is great. The anime is also great. Oh god, I can die with them. They are so good.
