@PiperPilotPaul for now I get to avoid correcting his thesis, since he's not sending me the chapters he's writing 😎 but when I go back to my institution (I'm abroad now, assembling and testing modules for a different experiment) I'll have to redo all his analysis using the techniques I suggested, since he refused to try them out
@PiperPilotPaul i'll have to include and expand his analysis in my phd thesis, but the method he used does not look mathematically solid. Also, he's rushing to graduate next month and the code he's written was not integrated with the rest of the software... so yeah, lots of work for me
@stormtoast Aha! Crystal clear why that's aggravating. Shame that it falls back to you so that your thesis is solid.
Hypothetically:
In a perfect scenario how could this be remedied?
(No reply required. Just a lessons learned query. Voodoo dolls allowed. :) )
@stormtoast Hmmm. That sucks. Stop me if I'm being too nosey, but it seems odd that you would have to do the redo instead of him. Is this an institutional rule, or etiquette, or your desire?
