@szescstopni Oh. Is Polesia basically all wetlands as your pictures make me believe?
@trinsec It used to be until the 1960s, when the government started draining it to free up land for agriculture. What is left now are just small remnants of its past glory. There's a small national park here – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polesie_National_Park. I just read that Wikipedia article and the part about draining it during WW2 is bullshit. Will have to fox that. Bear in mind – Western Polesia in Poland is just a small part of the region – most of it is in Ukraine and Belarus.
