They can't handle the fact that their entire country would rather have their tongues glued to the bottom of a policeman's boot than to live like dignified free men. They cry and hide when men come bearing the swastika. They do not bring their arguments to the table. They have not read the wisdom of the early spearheads of Democracy. They have no wish to understand why freedom is good - it is merely a word to them.
It is uniquely German to spend a century crying about how you *totally definitely don't* want to bow down to an authoritarian leader, and then to enact authoritarian policies to prevent people from bowing down to authoritarian leaders.

I don't particularly hate Germans - I just mildly dislike them. As someone who genuinely likes freedom/democracy, watching Germans pretend to be a nation of free men feels like seeing your brother wear a clay mask with your face painted on it all the time. Kinda creepy.
