Running emacs on OSX.
Org Mode is by far the best tool I've used to taking notes / keeping an engineering work log.

This is a nice improvement, which also allows you to use magit, if emacs was already started:
emacsclient -c -nw --alternate-editor='emacs -Q -nw'
with a fallback to the config-less emacs for fast startup.
