@vim
I wish vim-plug's windows could be floating popups. If someone figures this out, let me know please.

A command's help flag should not print more than a screenfull (ideally max 5 lines). I should not have to guess whether I need to use a pager to catch whatever comes out. Add a verbose help flag or something.

Today is Vim's birthday!

It's been 29 years since Bram Moolenaar gave Vim it's first public release in 1991, November 2nd. After 8 major releases and a 9th in consideration, Vim has come a long way.

Take a chance to show your appreciation for the greatest text editor of all time!

🎃Happy Halloween!
I wanted to speedpaint this evening the Spritely Family, their design feels halloweeny to me. 🙂 spritelyproject.org/

I tried emacs again.

My pinky: "nope, please stop, no".

Maybe when my ZSA Moonlander comes in. Maybe.

Telegram is becoming the Emacs of Android/iOS, which is inevitable given the nature of those platforms. Theoretically non-unix-y bloatware, practically a gem of software. It's hard to hate on Telegram when they do so well.

Prompted by their latest release. telegram.org/blog/pinned-messa

I have a dream

that blogs and websites will adopt the CSS @media query `prefers-color-scheme`

so I don't have to load a million lines of a bloated JavaSh** plugin to force a dark mode, and spare my eyes and RAM.

I implemented a CSS minifier in my ssg using :vim:. I'd use POSIX sed but I don't know how to turn of greediness when removing comments, or remove newlines.

Also lol my style.css reduced by ~40%.

Nuked my GPG keys.
Opened VSCode by accident.
Microsoft Teams.
Barely car crashed.

This week can eat my arse.

vim.org needs an update. It's so ad hoc, non-responsive and boomer. Emacs' page exhibits basic design principles. We should do better, @bram@moolenaar.net
