From what I know there are rules in many places that you should only drink from the glass bottle at the store and return it to the vendor.

Also the vendors earn extra cash for giving the bottles in recycling

@mur2501 Ah okay. Here the initiative to return the bottles is that you pay a little bit extra, and then get the money back upon return. We call it statiegeld, English is probably something like bottle deposit. Doesn't really work with random market stalls I suppose.

People really not gonna come back especially to just give bottles to get back some coins. Also we even lack public dustbins, recycle bins would be a dream.

@mur2501 Yeah. That's why every supermarket here accepts statiegeldflessen (bottles with bottle deposit on them). So if you're going to the supermarket, you can take your bunch of empty bottles along for a little bit of 'free money' for your groceries (well, it's really getting money back but hey. psychological effect!)
