Yesterday a dove banged mid-flight against my living room window. Don't worry, it flew away. Likely with a concussion. But it is a city dove, so probably no difference there. :P

You can clearly see the contour of that bird plastered on my window. I can easily see the wingspan, it's quite a nice sight. Alas, it doesn't take well to camera, it's barely visible if at all on screen.

@trinsec
A squirrel committed suicide with my bumper a few months ago. It lived long enough to run off into the brush after. No idea what happened to it and I'm not going to think about it.

I did have to hose off my bumper.

@lucifargundam Was there a nice contour of the squirrel on the bumper though?

@trinsec no... No contour on my bumper. Just bodily fluids of some sort.

@trinsec it wasn't white fluid if that means anything- and I'm not that familiar with squirrel anatomy.

@lucifargundam You hit its rump and it left behind a lump.. let's hope it's just a dump!

@trinsec This happens about 3 to 4 times a year on our back garden window. I deduce that at certain sun angles and intensity the 'glass' is not visible to bird. We cal it the 'ghost impression' as the oil from the wings changes colour as it thins out due to wavelength refraction (like oil on street).
