It looks like you can sign into different servers and create accounts in different servers? How does this work?

@manjuggm One account is generally good enough to get in touch with people from other servers.

Just like you can email somebody from Outlook.com with your Gmail.com email address. :)

There are a few exceptions (like servers blocking each other), but Qoto does not block servers by default so we are one of the most connected servers around.

@manjuggm Quite a long read, but it's fairly good. Seems accurate enough to me.

It doesn't take into account that various instances can have modifications. So we have quote-toots on Qoto, but the default Mastodon doesn't have that.
I can see the dunking issue, but since we're a STEM oriented instance, our quote-toot usually is used for displaying other interesting scientific stuff I've noticed.
