Lately I've been getting noticed around the world and online in random places, usually STEM oriented.
Just now two people from a random internet chat room ( ##physics ) knew who I was, had a similar experience in a Science forum. Even in person, I visited a maker space I had never been to and more than one person came up to me and said "Aren't you freemo, from mastodon".
It feels weird being recognized when I go random places. I feel like I lost a sort of natural anonymity. Havent felt this way in decades (when i was younger I was on the news a lot and was recognized often as well).
I guess the reason its so surprising is I didnt really realize how much reach I had until just now. I mostly joined the fediverse just so I could shit post in peace, lol.
