@Snowden

Howdy Edward, did you hear that signal is going to start introducing proprietary code for spam? Slippery slope, hope you use element/matrix and recommend that soon.

@twotwenty
Or XMPP. Considering Matrix is funded by the same people who run the POTS surveillance.
@Snowden

@swiley @Snowden

you have references for POTS I can read?

XMPP doesnt have the nicely integrated p2p e2e does it?

@swiley @twotwenty @Snowden

I'd like to see your source for the matrix/POTS surveillance connection as well.

@twotwenty
Personally, I'm not completely against keeping the details of anti-spam server config secret, as long as the presence of this configuration is disclosed. Signal has always treated its own servers as untrusted anyway. But, I'm concerned that non-spam bots could get blocked.
@Snowden

@twotwenty
That's fair. Honestly, I always saw Signal as kind of a compromise, due to their reliance on Google Play and phone numbers.
@Snowden

@Snowden @twotwenty since the protocol is open, maybe open source community will create independent realization without centralization and phone numbers. but it's a lot of work and there're XMPP - it is already free.
