@fortyseven The main thing is to raise awareness about voting because so many people actively vote to empower officials that approve the exact issues that they rail against.

Stickers don't do much, but voting for a congressperson who doesn't fix things sure does!

@gandalf_der_12te just filter based on hashtags.

Set the norms that people categorize their own posts using hashtags and other people opt in or out based on the same tags.

@venya

The important question for everybody is, did they vote for the representative that is in Congress right now?

It doesn't even matter whether it's a Republican or a Democrat. The Democrats in Congress have decided to be worthless, have really chosen to go along with what's going on.

We have got to stop reelecting the same worthless representatives. And yet, so many people who are opposed to what's going on keep voting for the same people.

That's really the key.

Stop reelecting the congresspeople enabling this stuff, even the Democrats. Writing letters doesn't really matter if they know they're going to be reelected anyway.

@realcaseyrollins

Yes, I do think is stupid. The reason I think that is because we see him make unforced errors over and over as he loses otherwise obtainable goals, as we watch him shoot himself in the foot over and over throughout his record.

From him botching his own court case that led to his felony convictions through botching negotiations for peace deals through botching trade negotiations leading to responses that he definitely said wouldn't happen, the guy keeps messing up in ways that were obviously going to happen.

His record of making promises that he couldn't keep reflects a level of stupidity that is really quite striking.

@persagen

Don't let the stories of billionaires distract you. These images are being generated by a whole lot of users who are definitely not billionaires.

@jmac The problem with that kind of attitude is that it excuses the folks up the chain of command that enable their actions, set policy, set their norms of behavior, and pay them.

I wouldn't go there. I would rather hold their managers accountable.

@realcaseyrollins

Nah, You're giving Trump too much credit.

He just wanted some attention. That's the long and short of it.

Globalize? The guy doesn't know anything about the rest of the globe, nor does he care. He just wants attention.

@zoocoup Well, it's not that they are outright refusing but that they are joining the Republicans with their votes to promote this terrible situation.

We have got to stop re-electing these same people that are failing us so badly. But we keep putting them back into power instead of holding them accountable.

@bwa_aptos

One would expect that the decision surrounding Humphrey's will be later in the term as it is not such a pressing issue, and there is probably going to be a lot more drafting and redrafting surrounding that very complex topic.

@genecowan

The thing to keep in mind is that those claims have been circulating in mainstream conservative media all the while. These administration speakers are merely latching onto popular conservative ideas.

They are following, as they often are, not leading. It's a symptom, not a cause.

These dangerous claims are coming from the grassroots, in other words. It's really important to recognize that the problem is out there in the public, not coming top down from any individual officials.

@susankayequinn Oh they don't need your compliance. They have guns.

In fact, they love demonstrators because they know how to handle that. Demonstrators are playing their game. They know how to operate the riot gear; they know how to use tear gas; they know how to use videos of demonstrations in their propaganda.

No they love you demonstrating. You're playing into their hands.

The main thing is, stop reelecting the same idiots that can't effectively fix things. THAT is how to change the system. So many people demonstrating against bad policies did so right after reelecting and re-empowering the same lawmakers who supported those bad policies!

Problem is, that kind of analysis treats judges as if they were untethered from law, perhaps overlooking the role of our elected representatives in the system.

It could very well be that the judges aren't the problem, but we need to elect better lawmakers to make better laws for the judges to act on.

@PaulWermer What cases on international law have they ruled on that would support this?

Oh.

It's always funny how 's biggest supporters laud him as a great communicator and then in their next breath rush to clarify what he just said, at least, as best as they can tell.

With analytical brains like this setting US government policy, What could go wrong?

Mainstream media today:

"We need to emphasize that isn't going to be like the war in Iraq!"

And then they go on to lay out how they're exactly the same.

These folks don't know their history, not even from a couple of decades ago, so they can't judge the present.
They are making major decisions based on factual inaccuracies, and that's why it's so important to recognize that.

@bruno_j_navarro

It strikes me that this once again confuses working fine with working the way I personally want.

Yeah, our system gives the people what they want, and you know what, the people kind of suck. It's garbage in garbage out, to use the computer term. Just because we're getting really crappy results doesn't mean it's not working. It just means, well the problem with democracy is the people.

This system is working fine. It's doing exactly what it is supposed to do. And it's our fault for electing these people, and reelecting them, and putting this garbage in.

We need to stop re-electing these same representatives, because we're just telling the system that we once it to deliver us these results. So it does. Like it's supposed to.

@realcaseyrollins

Well, what of the Court's perspective that statute specifically withholds that authority? Specifically where do you think the Court gets the law wrong?

@LordOfQuails @w7voa

@LordOfQuails

No, that kind of claim has been circulating in certain circles, but it really doesn't match when you actually sit down and read the rulings that have been coming out of the Court.

The Court has been pretty consistent in their arguments ruling for Trump and against Trump based on legalities.

But you have to actually read directly from the Court to avoid sensationalized stories that amount to conspiracy theories.
