@JonKramer depends what you mean by that. We cant predict when flares happen, however the particles ejected from a flare take some time to reach us, while the xrays are speed of light.
It isnt wrong to say the sun plays a factor... but your a moron if you think the bulk of global warming is caused mostly by the sun.
I dont have the time right now to read the paper but I bookmarked it to read tomorrow when im more free.
@freemo @niclas Not a lot of current papers on the topic, but some papers have reported up to 40% effect by the sun's activity. The problem with this is it looks like that number doesn't take into account the 'solar constant' which has been changing since 1978, when we started to really study that number. THAT number has been FALLING, which would drive massive global cooling. So, unless the human factors are WAY more than measured, that claim is highly doubtful.
