I am currently actively moving away from #Autodesk products, and the main reason is because of their predatory pricing.
Did you know Autodesk wants to monitor your usage and charge you for *each day* that you want to use their products? And they want you to buy their own special currency to do so, just like shitty F2P phone apps. How dystopian is that?
Especially when #Blender exists as a #FOSS option. Fuck Autodesk.
@freemo Yep, open source definitely has its own problems, but it still generally comes out on top.
@LouisIngenthron It does yea, not saying open-source always means the best.
But open-source does tend to mean freedom, which means it tends to use open-standards and no lockin so you can generally move products easier.. And of course if you need something enough you can always add it yourself.
The reason i put it as #1 is because it tends to include #2 by default.
@LouisIngenthron My priorities when choosing a product
1) Open-source
2) open-format and standards
3) dont :)
