Can anyone help me with #nextcloud ?
When I share a folder with others (they do not have an account) is there a way for them to get a link to a specific file in that folder? For example, they upload a pic and want to get a link to that pic only
@selea How do you do that as guest? I know I can do it as person with an account, but if I just get into a shared folder, with edit and download permission, I don't see how to do it.
There is a "share" option with the right click, but it does nothing
Thanks, reshare permission is on
@selea
@arteteco I would imagine a right click on the specific document should produce a Share dialogue -- and go from there? It's how it works in other similar programmes.
@design_RG That is the problem, I can't seem to do it. This is an example, if you try to access here can you get a link just to that single image that is in the folder, and not to the whole folder?
@arteteco That little icon beside the file in the dir listing opens the share menu.
Guest visitors can't do it though.
@design_RG Yeah that is how I produced the link, I am trying to understand if guests can do it. If as guest you right click on the file you have a "share" option, but nothing happens
@arteteco I see - -a guest would not be able to access a Sharing function.
If they have the link and could open the whole folder, the best they could do is say "open this folder, and get this particular file".
Or -- copy the file and share it on their own, in any services, if they want to only show that one.
@design_RG Yes, this is the problem I'm trying to solve, so you confirm that guests in your experience cannot share single files.
Too bad, seems useful
@arteteco I will try and open the Folder link as a Guest, in a new Private Window. Hold on.
Confirmed -- Guest only option is Download.
@arteteco Go up to the Folder level then -- and use the Share icon, will open a dialogue. See screenshot.
@design_RG That doesn't work as guest I am afraid, or I just don't see how
Is this what you
're looking to do?
(requires javascript though)

@sda @design_RG Uh, yes! How did you get that link?
I just middle-clicked on the filename, opening it in another tab. Then copy/pasted the link from the URL bar.
@sda
Only seems to work with images though, Trying with a pdf now and doesn't work
@arteteco @design_RG
I don't see a pdf there.
@sda I was testing on another folder, just uploaded one now
@design_RG

Works on FF 77.0.1 and Seamonkey 2.49.5
@sda @design_RG mh, that's interesting, I need to open it with the mouse wheel clic to get the full URL. I think this could be something worth an issue on github, when I tried before I didn't have a central mouse clic and I couldn't get there.
Thanks for your help!
@arteteco
Anytime!
@arteteco
You share the Link to that picture only?
