I miss the days when I could just pick up a printed #book and start #reading. At present I have usually to scratch around for my #reading #spectacles; then I have to locate my #reading light. Once all of these 'measures' have been taken, I can start to #read the #book. Usually by this time my initial enthusiasm for #reading has greatly dissipated.

@TammyGentzel @bookstodon I just do not get the same #reading experience with #Ebooks as I do with printed books. Perhaps I am just too old fashioned but thank you for the suggestion.
@bibliolater @TammyGentzel @bookstodon I am the opposite. Can’t read a hardcover book anymore. Love ebooks
@ChrisCPS @bibliolater @TammyGentzel I'm the same, much prefer ebooks, so if my wife recommends a treeware book, first thing I do is check whether it's on Overdrive courtesy of the public library.
That said, I'm not a fan of ebooks except on an e-ink device. For me that's a Kobo e-reader.
Also, I mainly read novels; for non-fiction with lots of illustrations and flicking back and forth, I'd still go with treeware.
@JohnDA @bibliolater @TammyGentzel if I have nonfiction will use the iPad. Best thing that happened to spouse and myself was being able to read on iPhones at night in bed on dark mode. Both of us read in bed to get to sleep, no disturbing the other person now
@bibliolater @bookstodon I absolutely agree. I don’t like it. But I like to read and I have trouble with most printed books now, so….
