To come to an understanding regarding why Freemo blocked a spinster user.
I am going to look at the original thread and give an opinion on the incident itself.
I was hoping it could be talked out and consensus reached, but it seems there are some strong opinions on both sides.

The issue has nothing to do with opinions about the topic of the thread itself. The issue is simple, I asked the user to not contact me anymore, they specifically told me they refused, after asking them to leave me alone several times I blocked them. I later found that the user had messaged me some 20 times on the same thread attacking me while blocked and accusing me of various things.
It is not the topic that requires action but the fact that a user explicitly not disengage when asked.

No one needs to be sacraficed. They do need to be able to see why their actions were against the rules, optionally apologize for breaking the rules, but at a minimum demonstrate that they will not continue to harass users from other instances in the same manner.
Obviously if this behavior is shown to be acceptable and sanctioned by spinster then I will personally vote for a bnlock of the spinster instance to ensure our own users wont be harassed in the future.
On the other side, if I am reasonably satisfied that users who harass others in the manner here do get dealt with and moderator action deals with such cases, especially banning users who violate the stated rules, then my moderator recommendation will be to **not** block the spinster instance.
In the end I dont care what anyone's stance is but as @Surasanji said if someone asks to disengage and that isnt respected that is harassment, doesnt matter on the topic or situation it **will** be dealt with.

I have asked once politely to be removed from this reply chain. This is the second request. I have added some white space to the top of the message in case the first was perhaps missed.
Please remove me from the list in the contact chain for this thread.
I dont want anyone to grovel. I want people not to harass others, that means me, others on my instance, or others on other instances. Harassment means when you ask not to be contacted the person stops contacting you in this case.
Thats all I demanded from the get go, and it is all i demand now. If that simple request is not honored and not enforced, then moderator action will be taken.
This conversation will ultimately determine if moderator action is needed. We at QOTO are slow to take such action because we want to give everyone the benefit of the doiubt and a voice first.
So far, however, its looking like spinster is very quickly spiraling towards a instance wide ban.
I myself have decided to give it till the end of the day to hear what Alex's decision will be, at that point I will suggest moderator action, specifically defederation.
