@iamo Very few instances are excluded, yes. Some pretty shocking images sometimes on the Federated feed, but you can block an instance if you like, on your own profile.
@design_RG hiding the behavior, or not looking at it, is the same as excusing and accepting it. i refuse to be a part of a network like this, it's nothing but harm, there's no way around that
@iamo ok, it's your choice, but there is a lot of good people and things. Leaving because of the bad apples gives them power, they forced you out.
I have blocked a large domain that is particularly upsetting for me.

Think of it like email, because it is a lot like that. How would you feel if you were on an email server and unable to email half of the other email servers in the world because some people on those servers are bad people.
For me at least id rather have the power as the user to decide who to block and who to engage at.if i want to tell a nazi supporter they are wrong, i should have that right and not blocked from it.
With that said, you are here to be happy and enjoy yourself. There are plenty of instances that will block you and other instance at the drop of a hat the second you become disliked. If that is the atmosphere you prefer there are servers out there you might enjoy more.
Up to you but your welcome here. But yea our policy is it is better to put nazis in the light, and be aware of what people are saying, and even to be able to voice our own outrage at them if we wish. Evil flourishes in the dark but fades in the light.
