If you really want world peace and equality, learn Quantum Mechanics. It will challenge all your most fundemental and deep rooted prejudices.

@freemo, do you have recommended material for beginners? I've always wanted to give it a shot but I've been scared off by the math it seems to involve!

@Zyzzyva
Well you cant really begin to understand QM without learning math first, otherwise its just magic. Are you willing to learn math as you go?

@freemo, sure! It's just that it seemed more like a pre-requisite than a co-requisite; I don't mind picking it up along the way.

@freemo I have learnt time is relative and this has made me open to lot of gut twisting concepts in science and math. It will take another 16yrs to fundamentally question my beliefs about society. Every aspect has its own pace I guess. As you can see very talented scientists and engineers being ignorant to social realities.

@freemo so what's the best way to learn it?

@jax Ill get you the name of tthe introductory book tomorrow if you remind me

@freemo thanks!! I will try to remember to remind you

@freemo, I'm not @jax, but I hope a reminder from me works just the same! :)

@freemo ...and I just saw the thread. I'm leaving my job next spring to teach folks basic accounting and finance and to learn math and physics, so your toot is timely! Do space and time exist?

@jax They exist as much as anything i suppose, they are just "flexible"

@freemo QM is one of the subjects i hated in college but got the highest of grades (i was surprised myself). I still love to hate it because it's spooky.
And i totally agree with your comment :amaze:

@Karthikdeva Its so hard for most people to grasp. I was exposed at a young age so it felt a bit more natural to me, but even then a lot of things are not intuitive like spin states.

@freemo
Ikr!!
And Einstein hated QM and called Q-entanglement as "Spooky action at a distance" which roughly translates to this post i tooted a while ago :' qoto.org/@Karthikdeva/10316015
