There is no such thing as "primary definition" there are a bunch of definitions, all are just as valid as the next. The order in which definitions appear in a dictionary is **not** an allusion towards validity or what is "primary", the order is determined simply based on frequency of usage, nothing more.

So any time i make a random list of things the first thing in the list is primary... So if i had a grocery list and the first thing listed is cheese you'd say "I couldnt find the primary thing on the list in the supermarket" and people would know you meant the first one on the list?
Thats not how the word is usually used.
