@freemo As we are focussed on privacy here, is it possible to create a sort of dummy account please that we can use for videos or training purposes.
I could then use that, for a video or screenshots on how to send a direct message to another user. ?
@zleap Do you think the existing @QOTO account might already fit that description?
As for if we are privacy focused, well that depends on what way exactly. I personally have strong beleifs in the importance of privacy, however whether we execute on that depends on in what way.. like a Tor node can connect to our server if you wish to have privacy, as can a VPN.. but unlike some servers we ourselves are not hosted from a Tor node (which adds some complications as regular users wouldnt be able to see or use us).
Sure but I'm confused, arent you asking if we can have a dummy accoutn for that? isnt that the opposite of creating your own account...
with that said as long as you get preauthorization from a moderator (and we usually give it) you can have two accounts here, so you can open an account purely for that purpose if you wish.
If you do so you can even use the same email you currently do you just need to append it like this:
foo@bar.com
turns into
foo+something@bar.com
That will be seen as a new email address but almost all email services should forward it to foo@bar.com if they follow the email standard
@freemo @QOTO Ah ok, i had not thought about using the @QOTO account for this, so I used it for the video.
I just needed to demonstrate ow to send a direct message.
It just makes it easier to help new users out, which makes them feel more welcome.
