I just stocked up on a TON of ammo for my AR-15.. lets hope I never have to use it in self defense but after Biden took over as president and the series of events I am seeing unfold it worries me just enough to be prepared just in case. I still think it is unlikely to devolve to that point, but the Biden arrests and the misinformation in the media feels a bit too scary for me to at least not prepare.

If things do get bad enough that a nazi-like environment fully develops it will be far too late to get ammo by the time that is evident. So seems prudent to stock up now just in case.

Im basically just buying boxes of NATO 5.56 in various type. Hell if things calm down and get better at least ill have plenty of ammo for the range.

This is the first time I ever felt any real need to stock up on ammo in case of emergency, thats sad. But with the first segregationist is living history as president who already promised a healthy dose of fascism before even winning the election it is dangerous times out there.

@freemo So are there more protests planned to coincide with the impeachment?

@freemo we should not accept facism in fear that the fascists will try again to get the fascist back into power. The republicans are trying to use this fear to justify not impeaching Trump, but giving into that fear is to support it. Sure it's a good idea to be armed in case they reattempt an insurrection, but it never makes sense to put their demands over democracy.

@koherecoWatchdog I am not particularly scared of the republicans initiating anything, nor am I too worried about anything to do with the trump impeachment directly.. They are mostly idiots and mostly harmless, if they do anything it will be more reactionary once violence picks up than to initiate I'd imagine, hard to say they might initiate, but not my main fear.

My fear is entirely from biden and the democrats and liberals in the USA right now.. see my post here as an explanation:

@freemo arresting neo-nazis is not playing the fear card. It's the opposite. How long have you been in the US? You seem confused about who uses appeal to fear, and who is most prone to violence (I mean deadly violence & violence against ppl, not smashing windows violence). Your AR-15 is overkill if your worried about liberal violence. What you need is plywood, to protect your windows.

@freemo The liberals are happy the facist has been removed from the most powerful position in the world, they have no cause for violence ATM. It's the RWNJs who are plotting attacks right now.

@koherecoWatchdog Except they **are** the fascists, and they used violence and intimidation to get that end.. yes they are happy, but they also have now been emboldened that fascism works to get their way, there will be more of it in all liklihood.

@freemo If impeachment doesn't happen, liberals will be outraged but not to the extent of widespread violence. You need a cop to kill someone due to race before you get widespread liberal violence.

@koherecoWatchdog cops kill someone because of race every single day... with that said none of the incidents of violence i mentioned and witnessed had anything to do with cops killing anyone.

@koherecoWatchdog @freemo >the fascist has been removed

biden: "only a dictator would legislate by executive order"

Also biden: 40 executive orders in his first week in office

Also biden: inaugurated in a military fortress guarded by 25k troops

also biden: labeling his political opponents enemies of the state

👀 you seem to be confused about the definition of 'fascist'. Hint, it's not "anyone who disagrees with you".

@anonymoose

I agree with most of your points. Though I dont mind so much if he had a lot of protection during his inauguration.

@koherecoWatchdog

@freemo @koherecoWatchdog

I would not have minded ‘heightened security’; this was a full-on military occupation of an american city for a state ceremony. It seems to me to be a difference of kind, not degree. Though I can understand why you might disagree on that point.

@anonymoose

I mean it was certainly overkill, no doubt about that. But in terms of what im concerned about its not very far up on the list for a single ceremony.. Now if he starts doing that all the time then we might have a problem.

@koherecoWatchdog

@koherecoWatchdog I grew up in the USA and spent most of my life here, only started spending a lot of time int he netherlands in adult hood.

Arresting a literal neonazi who literally tried to murder minorities is not playing the fear card, nor is it anywhere on my list of concerns... None of my comments applied to cases such as that.

I've literally seen liberals these past four years beating people bloody int he street they disagreed with, I saw them use explosives (fireworks) against and old couple for wearing MAGA hats, I've seen them burn whole building to the ground as mothers with their babies stand in the street in tears screaming.... I've seen with my own eyes far more violence from the liberals than I care to recount, and yes, that makes me fearful of what they will do now that they seized power.

@freemo @koherecoWatchdog (they've always had power. republicans and democrats *are both* liberals. they just didn't like how things were exiting their realm of control via popularism and took terroristic action to force thing backs under control.)

@freemo ah, you're talking antifa. Antifa is not big enough in the US to be concerned. Trump made them seem more popular than they are.

@koherecoWatchdog Just to be clear outside of the USA liberals are wonderful people and i dont see these same patterns.

@koherecoWatchdog No not just antifa, but yes antifa tends to be concentrated on the more radical side for sure.

I have experienced this sort of fascist intolerance as a mentality (and support for the violence) even just from conversations with people who were democrats/liberals in the USA and people I was shocked to learn would ever support such a thing. I cant tell you the number of personal real-life friends on facebook I saw cheering on the violence we had in philly every time it broke out of the last 4 years for various reasons (both riots and on smaller scales). The pattern is scary and seems wide spread.

@freemo
I was going to do similar either way because there's too many dangerous radical people in either side of the fence. The world is a scary place, time to set up or put up.

@lucifargundam yea there are certainly dangerous radicals on both sides... It feels like 95% - 97% of liberals/democrats are radicalized and something like 5% - 25% of republicans. But the republicans are more heavily armed and I suspect the rest of the republicans will quickly take up arms should the other radicals on both sides actually start a civil war.

@freemo
I should note for anyone looking into this conversation, that I'm usually a pacifist and don't believe endless wars solve anything.

That being said, I need to renew my gun license- but it expired in 2017 and so now I have to apply for a new one altogether. I don't hope to ever need to be use a firearm for self-defense, but it would be neglegent of me to dismiss the possibility and prepare accordingly.

I feel sad, for all of those who feel the need to be prepared.

@hansw MRW I hear people worried about Biden turning the country into a fascist state:

@freemo stats say you're much more likely to use it on yourself, blam away

@The_man_plan yup, which to me is an argument **for** guns not **against**...

because of two points it proves.

1) For the most part the people at risk are the people who consent to use the guns, and that is their right to put themselves at risk

2) It shows just how very rarely an innocent bystander is killed by a gun, far more rare than the person killing themselves (Accidentally or otherwise)

@The_man_plan You just said yourself they are more likely to kill the owner than someone else :)

@freemo
This is so ridiculously disconnected from reality I'm willing to make real money bets. Do you have any specific Nazi-like predictions for the Biden administration we can bet on?

Keep in mind I'm not particularly rich, so the money is mostly to make the losses feel more real, which should work even with relatively small amounts.
