Great poll but surprisingly the majority are incorrect. The answer is "white clothes". The reason being is that blackbody radiation is symmetric. A black object obsorbs IR heat faster but also emits it equally as fast. White on the other hand insulates against it.
Since the IR temperature in the arctic is far below body temperature the net effect of wearing black would be to loose heat where the net effect of wearing white is to retain heat.

I think the reason for the misconception is that people rely too much on face-value logic instead of clear, visible, constantly reproducible evidence.
They're not wrong in their thinking, just wrong in their answer.
@lucifargundam That and the fact that they are thinking of all the times they overheat wearing black in summer and are less likely to recognize the times in winter they were cold wearing black, partly cause in winter they just wear a jacket to compensate for the color.
This is true. Arctic temperatures are virtually non existent outside of the arctic.
@freemo @lucifargundam Plus that many people nowadays don't really know anymore what it is like to be freezing... if we're lucky we maybe have 2 days of snow here. And that's a big if. ;)
