I have to admit, basking in the glow of an unshielded open nuclear reactor for a few hours can be a surprisingly relaxing past time.

@freemo This is the most out of context post I've ever seen from you.

@rosareven
Just sitting on the egyptian beach enjoying the local nuclear radiation in the sky.

@freemo

and by "unshielded" you mean with several meter of water in between you and the core :P

@selea
No, only thing between me and it are a few miles of atmosphere ;)

@freemo @selea also my understanding is that the stuff that glows blue at the bottom of pools at reactors is stored fuel and not the actual reactor itself

@valleyforge
Neither directly glow blue. The blue is from cherenekov radiation and is caused by high energy alpha and beta radiation (but not gamma or neutron) slowing down as they pass through the water.
@selea

@freemo Stop hogging that reactor and share some of it with us in the north. :P

@trinsec
If i did that youd all have skin cancer before the day is out. You people barely survive daylight hours as it is

@freemo Oh you're so brave to take on the danger of skin cancer all by yourself for us!

(You're such a damn selfish person! :P)
