Hey everyone. I've created another Mastodon account over at @DaveOfThings@mastodon.technology.
It seems qoto.org, my first home on Mastodon, is cut off from much of the Fediverse, so I had to find an alternative.
I've tried to re-follow everyone from the new account. Unfortunately, I can't see some of my new qoto.org friends from there. Anyway, give the new account a follow if you'd like to stay in touch.

Why is it disconnected?
@undefined @DaveOfThings @DaveOfThings@mastodon.technology @thomas_oe Apparently some other servers are not happy with qoto's federating with problematic servers, so they're not federating with qoto.
I'm not aware of anything I'm missing out on as a result, but I have been bombarded by groups of nazis twice in the last week. (By, "nazis", I don't mean "people I disagree with politically" but "people who literally put swastikas in their profiles".) I blocked these "griefer" servers, but if this keeps happening I might also move.
@peterdrake @DaveOfThings@mastodon.technology @thomas_oe That's my understanding, too. And the problem in this situation is that folks outside qoto.org can't see my posts or follow me as a result of their instance policies. Being new to all this, it wasn't hard to start again on another instance.
@trinsec
Right. As far as most servers go on the fedivers we have one of the lowest insularity counts (low number of blocks).
Reason being most aervers either block heavily or are blocked heavily. Our middle of the road stance with moderate moderation gets us blocked only by aone of the more extremist servers wrt blocking.
