I want to find some sort of a passive dashboard i can keep up in the office 24/7 but not otherwise use the display. Something that displays email notifications, calander, tasks, todo, weather, pretty much all the sorts of stuff someone might want to keep on display.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good software or app or even hardware to do this?

@freemo historically, this is the sort of thing one used [conky](github.com/brndnmtthws/conky) for. Maybe there's something more modern now.

@khird @freemo Conky is great. I use it for my time/percentage tool on one of my screens. :-)

@Sioctan

I've used conky before. It seems more oriented towards a regular computer where you want some data on your desktop underneath everything.

That said I see no reason it cant be used as a primary perminant display that never runs anything but conky... all the same in the end.

@khird

@freemo A large RepRap that prints the notification on the surface. Also a spare RepRap to print replacement parts.
