Is life and the universe as we perceive it a simulation? Comment if you like. From either a physics or a spiritual perspective. I want to know your views.

Well, yes. But also no. :) More yes than no, in some sense, so I voted yes.

But it depends (it really does!) what you mean by "simulation".

Are there universes that contain this universe as a subset, even an intentionally-created subset? Yes!

Is this universe therefore less important than some other "real" thing? NO!

@gpowerf The human brain is (currently) incapable of understanding the the origin of existence. I don't even think we are capable of evening exploring the first layer of the thick onion that is the universe.

That's just what I have thought for a long time.

@gpowerf I like to think that death could be like waking up from a dream, as we pass into a different plane of existence where time and space do not exist.

@retrosteveuk it could be a game we play and then it all goes back to normal after Game Over.
