I've been on a low-effort, low-stakes quest to find whiteboard markers that aren't disappointing. So far, the Chisel-Tip Pentel Markathon Pump Dry Erase Markers are doing well. I've been using them for over a month with no frustration. Tentative recommendation.

@kristinmbranson That’s a cool product. I had some chalk based dry erase markers where the tip could be pumped that worked pretty well.
I always lose my writing utensils way before they wear out so I didn’t fully reap the benefits of them. :)
@derickflorian I looked at some of these! They come in more exciting colors than the ones I tried. Will consider! I have a guerilla art project in mind that requires dry-erase markers.
@kristinmbranson Oh, that’s really cool! I chose chalk based because of the smell of traditional markers. Good luck with your project!
@kristinmbranson Thank you - I followed your advice and ordered these too
@kristinmbranson fun!
@kristinmbranson I use staedtler refillable markers
I cross-posted this to Twitter, got this excellent recommendation from one of my favorite builders: https://www.andybuilds.com/projects/remarkable/
