I am a little new to protocols such as Matrix so looking for a client
Debian seems to have two
nheko/stable 0.6.3-2 amd64
desktop IM client for the Matrix protocol
quaternion/stable 0.0.9.3-1 amd64
desktop IM client for the Matrix protocol
Any suggestions as to which one to perhaps go for, based on experience, ease of set up etc.

@zleap Welcome, good luck and enjoy! I guess your experience will heavily depend on whether you want to start a community (move your friends to Matrix), or rather join some large existing communities or public rooms.
@FailForward I joined as I already use IRC but FOSDEMis also making use of Matrix, it makes sense have access to both technologies.
