@Amber I was only going by what you said. You said you punched someone for using the f word.
@Rovine my sister in law had a cat that could trigger me from her bay window while I was still in my car in the driveway :)

@Amber That's fine. I think we have established what you wanted to say here. Thank you for the chat. Be well.

@Amber I think you may have misread what I said about equality. You may want to read it again to see who the subject is. Perhaps I should try to reword it if it is still unclear. Let me know.
on violence 4/6
@Amber I never inferred or suggested that any violence and ideologies are a thing of the past. But words have meaning, and I just want to be clear whether we are talking about people who have committed actual atrocities and those who may or may not have done so today.
on violence 3/6
@Amber So, by absurd you are stating that you are for destroying books that have ideologies you disagree with. You are giving me a very accurate picture of who you are.
If not for the obvious parallels alone, at least for the concept of preserving history so that it not be repeated among other things are reasons not to burn books.

@Amber sorry about the tag (I assume you meant CW) but I thought this whole conversation was under a tag. My bad.
Here you are admitting directly that you are willing and have done so of your own volition committed physical battery on a person's body for simply using speech.
on violence 1/4
@Amber okay, so you are advocating initiating violence against persons for using speech.
@Ghosty @nergal They are. Sorry, not sure why I thought you were in the apt system. I am not a current user of pacman. Here is a good place for that sort of thing:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman/Rosetta
And pacman -Qm and Pacman -Qt seem to be the ones that mate up
@Rovine animal allergies are actually relative to specific animals. I knew a man that spent the money necessary to collect saliva from his personal horse so they could make immunotherapy serums for him. Not all dogs or cats will trigger your allergy in the same way,

@Amber @CornishRepublicanArmy@hellsite.site Okay, before this goes too far, let's have some definitions. Who is a fascist? How far to the right of center do they have to be? Is anyone wearing a MAGA hat included? Is simply conservative republican far enough to the right?
Or are we talking about actual followers of Mussolini or Hitler?
Which behaviors are you advocating violent opposition for? Public assembly? Speech with hurtful words? Or anything else short of directly inciting violence?
Who are we including in "Antifa?" Are you lumping the non-violent BLM into whose protests they tend to inject themselves? Is it just the violent masked folks? Or are you going back to the Antifaschistische Aktion?
Set some definitions and let's determine who should have a free hand to proactively use violence on someone else.

@Amber @CornishRepublicanArmy@hellsite.site Anyone that says violence never accomplishes anything has not seen what can be accomplished with a well trained infantry unit.
The issue I am seeing is "who specifically is a fascist?" Can we check their papers and determine they are a member of the party? Can it just be someone who opposes miscegenation? How about some guy that calls another guy faggot during a bar fight?
I live in USA. Things may be different in other countries, but we have the rule of law here. A concept of innocent until proven guilty. And freedom of speech. Advocating violence against a guy wearing a Lee's Battle flag (confederate) or whatever other symbol may identify their idiology, but does it give me free rein to walk up and punch him?
Maybe we can run them out of town, and burn something on their lawn.. While you are at it toss a few books on the fire, because that is what things like this are sounding like.
Bad people did bad things. Doing bad things to them is neither justice nor equality, is is merely revenge.
There is plenty of talk about equality or egalitarianism or all sorts of wonderful things. That sound good on the surface. But if you dig down and people are actually supporting violence, and retribution, and revenge... Then know them by their fruits. And they are no better than those they condemn.
@Surasanji @freemo Maybe it is just better that way. The old ways being preferable. We certainly have our Amish communities here.
@Surasanji @freemo I know, I have seen it. Love the different living history museums. I just don't think I have seen "Dutch"
@freemo @Surasanji not sure what that might look like, but I guess it could be interesting
@freemo @Surasanji I guess people wear croc's in the US so what can I say :) They always look so heavy, I imagine you would get a good workout if you wore them all the time.
One of the living history places here does military encampment and some of the soldiers wear them as part of their gear.
@freemo @Surasanji you didn't have to wear those big wood shoes when you did it did you?
programming weird(?) habit
@kiilas have you considered the diff tool of your favorite vcs/scc package?
