@Dee you mean to suggest that one can close a tab?
@Ari @mk @alex Inclusion be what it may, But there is a differentiation at least in name and though TERF seems pretty descriptive, I know it is taken as pejorative by some.
However conversationally, one may need to differentiate xx women from amab transitioned women, vs transvestite women, vs people identifying as suck. Likewise there are feminists who are exclusionary to one or more of those classes and/or inclusive of one or all of them.
Not sure how important labels are, but it sure makes conversations easier on the internet.
@alex do people who are TERF use that term to describe themselves?
@fructose_dealer the dog rings a bell, but I don't know whether the cat is there or not
@johnlitt @mngrif @freemo yes. There is an option to do so. You just can't do it on your own instance. If you choose the person where you have the FOLLOW button, there is a hamburger menu to the right of it. One of the options is to block a whole instance from which that person comes.
It is certainly up to you to curate your own feed. I would encourage you to block or silence at the finest level possible. I have yet to find an instance where "everyone" is problematic. But those are my opinions offered freely, and worth just as much :)
I remember when I first started in computers the most common question (after can you fix my computer?) was "What is the best language to learn?"
Even as a C/C++ programmer I never felt comfortable suggestion a n00b start on such languages. Delphi/Pascal came to mind but wasn't as readily available.
Finally, I am comfortable making a recommendation. And like all my opinions, these are well reasoned, clearly thought out, and obviously 100% correct, and if you disagree, you are probably wrong about other things too :)
So my current answer is Python.
I am open to opinions and experiences. Discussion anyone?
