@freemo my friend at work showed me his "configuration" tweaks to make his windows open in reasonable sizes and shapes (including the gui ones) and that is what I didn't feel I wanted to have to deal with. (It was a really long list. ) Anyway, I really need to simply pair with or work closely side by side with someone that has bought into the concept and see if it fits. For now, not so much. :)
@freemo At some point I may have to dig into this. But for now, I normally work on multiple monitors but usually in full screen. So it just may not fit my particular workflows. I will look at it again sometime.
@freemo I think it works best with "text" based applications. But if most of the applications you run are GUI with optimal sizes and such there is a bit of tweaking to make things right. If I were living in the text mode world, I would likely focus on tmux or screen and just live like that inside one single maximized terminal window.
@socjuswiz @alex Thanks, I am reading quite a bit. Not to make light, but seems to me that no one seems to like anyone else. That is a situation that can only benefit the opposition.
I do get the resistance to be lumped together with some other group that seems to be riding the coattails of one's accomplishments. But I kind of remember late 60's and early 70's where the lesbians didn't care to be associated with the (male homosexuals) ....
How can anyone look at the issues of LGBTQIA as a force for change and summarily dismiss pieces of it they don't care to agree with. That is rhetorical, not worth a response. I am aware that the issue is outside of that alphabet soup and into 3WF or RF which does not necessarily overlap the LQBTQIA community unless you accept Catharine Mackinnon's concepts that for all intents and purposes seem to force the feminist movement into the lesbian world by default.
@freemo Okay, so you are yet another tiling wm user. I work with one guy that has bought into that concept as well. However, I just don't see the benefit. What is the benefit, and how does it outweigh the massive amount of tweaking required?
@benjancewicz sure is pretty
@freemo welcome back. You were missed.
Sorry I've been away, was walking around Amsterdam all weekend and configuring a fresh Archlinux install on my Surface Book 2.
Had the basic install working a few days ago but was mostly tweaking and configuring the window managers to be pretty and behave how i like. I got both i3 and qtile working with mostly all the same key bindings. Its pretty cool and looks super sexy.
@lain ... into the wild blue yonder.... :)
@Captain Can't wait to go see the new Pirate movie.... I hear it's rated arrrrrrr :)
@TheGnuMaster I still agree. You made very good points. I was merely trying to expand on them, with some historical examples
@mindstatex amazing how it can be so good and cheap at the same time one place, and total shite somewhere else...
@Captain I do believe in vegetarians. I am an ovum-lacto-pesci-pollo-carne-vegetarian.
@Absinthe Hmm, even better 🐝
@cigarBGuitarEfx Oh, okay. I was thinking you were describing a street racer.
@Captain I don't believe in vegans. I raise bees.
@OpenComputeDesign @Ghosty @tzycce@linuxrocks.online @nesc @malin you could use the waste either to make nuclear weapons, or, if it were legal you could use it in breeder reactors. However, someone decided we should make it illegal to have breeder reactors. Imagine that. We're the government, we're here to help. :)
@Captain sure it is, why not?
Genital, question, mostly trans
@panina oops, I misread your original post, and didn't realize you were not open to alternatives. Go ahead and ignore my response, i will go back and delete it.
However, if you are going the piercing route consider the ampalat or ampalang for consistency of the shape since the PA goes through one side only.
