@design_RG I think they are used that way in flirty texting. But I see them as what the internet has become. I get the imagery of the peach but I thought the taco is used more often. 🍑
do look suggestive
![]()
@Absinthe I have a feeling the emoji meant something more suggestive (like peach and aubergine), but there's some nice recipes on Bing : https://www.bing.com/search?q=Aubergine+and+taco
@design_RG does look delicious. I never used emoji suggestively. I just find it interesting that they are such popular emoji
@JPR there is a site that I enjoy, and it is one of their "Important Phrases"
Here is their french page, but you cna pick most any language
@JPR I use the handle "Absinthe" and have done so on many bulletin boards and forums for years (since 1989). It is a liquor that gained popularity some time ago, but when it threatended the French Wine industry it got banned because it contained a chemical called Thujone from the wormwood it was made with (Artemesia Absinthum) Not too long ago, it was determined that the safe levels of such a thing were not exceeded by the product as it was generally made. So it is available all over now. Anyway, there are a whole lot of posters and other artwork about the liquor itself, and one of the nicknames of the liquor is La fee verte because it was said to cause hallucinations. Probably had more to do with the 140 proof nature of it than the actual thujone content.
I shall be lazy and only do a freebie.
This problem was asked by Microsoft.
Given a 2D matrix of characters and a target word, write a function that returns whether the word can be found in the matrix by going left-to-right, or up-to-down.
For example, given the following matrix:
[['F', 'A', 'C', 'I'],
['O', 'B', 'Q', 'P'],
['A', 'N', 'O', 'B'],
['M', 'A', 'S', 'S']]
and the target word 'FOAM', you should return true, since it's the leftmost column. Similarly, given the target word 'MASS', you should return true, since it's the last row.
@JPR from the handle... "Absinthe" kind of goes together.
@JPR here is a video
@JPR watch the video, its short and it is not from the movie, but the original tv series from BBC
@JPR bongiorno
@JPR but I learned it here:
@JPR It is from a joke... Are you a monte python fan?
@JPR I took 6 weeks of French, German, Latin, Spanish and Russian when I was in 6th grade. We had to choose a language to focus on. At that age I was learning Hebrew for my bar mitzva so I ruled out German because it was too close, Latin and Russian because I figured I would never go to wherever they were spoken, and French because there were too many sounds not in my skills already and it hurt my mouth to try and speak it correctly. So I took spanish. I can now, 40 years later, ask for a bathroom, or order tacos in Spanish if I am lucky. :(
I should have grown up with Russian and Yiddish, but the old folks only spoke it in front of the children when they didn't want us to understand them. So I can say hello in lots of languages, and not much else.
@JPR Mon français est nul, mais je suis une ceinture noire chez Google Translate
@JPR mon aéroglisseur est plein d'anguilles
@JPR oui, mais je suis américain et nous ne parlons qu'un seul langage, et pas très bien
...
@JPR I won't embarrass myself by attempting to respond in French. Yes it was, and yes we should be.
Something you might find interesting, I am actually a direct descendant of William Brewster he is my g-g-g-g-grandfather <-- not sure the number of g's exactly.
