@kat I am using Python because I am trying to relearn Python in a more Pythonical way :)

It is unlikely that I will finish, or at least not in a timely fashion. I am getting ready for a 2 week trip to Tahiti without a computer, I am just not sure I can recover from being that far behind. Doesn't mean I can't finish, but maybe not by Christmas :)

Every problem is hard until you do it. Break them down into smaller tasks and solve them bit by bit. Use the smaller inputs he gives in the examples to do step-wise solutions.

@JJFlash I will have to look into that. As it is, I will soon be 2 weeks behind in the AoC because I am going to Tahiti, and I have been slow coming up with puzzles here for
as well. So there's that :)

I did not solve both with the first try because I got the first one pretty easy, but when the second one came around, I felt the need to rewrite the InCode machine in a cleaner way and I was not happy separating the direct and relative and "output" ones. I guess I am missing a "reference" or "pointer" in my Python repertoire :) But it is working.

Hint if you want it

@ihabunek that just needs curlies

@schlink@octodon.social Day 5 was kind of fun. Not sure how pythonic my code looks, but what can I say :)

Hint if you want it

@ihabunek remember that they are sorted, so all duplicates are next to each other. Perhaps if you just count the numbers and look for any with a count of 2

@kgary there is a site called mastodon trunk that has list of users by interests that. Want to be followed. Also post about stuff you like people will find you. Like and follow people who interest you. Welcome

stuck on Advent of Code, Day 3, part 1 (SPOILERS)

@schlink@octodon.social you are off because it includes all stops including 0,0

@grainloom Consider using SharpDevelop IC#Code Here it is:

github.com/icsharpcode/SharpDe

I only wish they had ported to Linux.

@flowless@myasstodon.xyz and might require the same amount of sunscreen.

@JJFlash you have to ask, there is no reason to snub Mastodon, the brag tags are for the programs benefit. Worst case is someone says 'no'. Haven't seen it yet. But I also just remembered I will be gone to Tahiti for two weeks, catching up when I get back may be a daunting/overwhelming task.

@Absinthe This is amazing! I had a feeling he would basically snob Mastodon, so happy I was wrong! 😃

Have you had a look at today's puzzle? 😁 Part 1 seems easy, I fear for part 2...

I've completed "1202 Program Alarm" - Day 2 - Advent of Code 2019 adventofcode.com/2019/day/2

And thanks to @ericwastl for adding in the ability to use the mastodon for brag tags!!

@JJFlash So I am asking Eric if he can add Mastodon as a target for brag tags. Maybe some more pressure from other users... Who knows, maybe even get him on Mastodon too? Just a thought. I asked Gargon how to do it and it seems simple enough so I passed it on to him.

@JJFlash well I won't be doing it in the wee hours so competition is pretty much out of the question anyway :)
