@LWFlouisa Yea QOTO got royally screwed by him too... He has been a disapointment for a lot of people.
@freemo its awful people got screwed, but its also oddly reassuring.
Once I got more technical ( I am learning that every I learn to code, Im figuring out how much I dont know ) I was wanting to fork Mastodon.
And make ita bit more like Diaspora, but having aspects that make Mastodon more current.
@LWFlouisa @freemo Oh that would be interesting. Mastodon needs a bit more shaking up. The basis is ok but there are so many things that could be better.
A fork is a lot of wirk (QOTO is a fork).. but yea its desperately needed for someone to fork mastodon and fix eugenes mess ups IMO

There are a few interesting Mastodon forks around already, might be worth trying to get off those? Glitch for example? Or am I talking noob now?

I wanting to run one instance local only to test out chatbots first. That's mostly because I'm more used to static website generator.
But I thought why not test the decentralized west world like concept at a small scale so I know it actually works.
Like so many things in the fediverse there is a large group of people who wills uspend you for running soapbox at all.. apparently only Nazis run soapbox or something like that...

Personally i dont know why politics has anything to do with what UI you use.

Well you're all correct, and that's actually precisely my fear with Eugene's approach.
For those who don't know I got kicked from the main precisely because political things going on I wasn't aware of.
Though it's not always easy to tell, because the default message is the same.

@LWFlouisa @freemo @trinsec being an LGBT instance has little to do with being a totalitarian control freak and blocking non-transphobic people on guilty by association basis because their non-transphobic instance uses non-transphobic software, one of the developers of which is a supposed transphobe. For that you don't need to be LGBT, you need to be insane.
