@thor better, it's a big part of the entire point, wasting energy and risking predation and still doing fine is a sign of superiority which is why that kind of sexual selection evolved in the first place. Peacocks are an extreme example of this, but also stag antlers. Fancy and incredibly impractical clothes like suits and cocktail dresses are the memetic version of this.

Current #Tapir feature in progress: fine-grained blocking, media blocking, and reply control. You'll be able to set allow-by-default or block-by-default for federation, DMs, showing media, and showing replies, and you'll be able to override trust levels per domain, user, or individual post.
Domain blocks also apply to hotlinked inline media, so, for example, you can set block-by-default for images in #Nostr posts unless they're from one of a few trusted domains.

@Moon oh I missed "free/free-ish" somehow. Everything will at least require the resources to run the hardware that makes it possible so free is impossible, methinks you can't go lower than the costs of a sensible contract on a sensible blockchain, best you could do is have volunteers or publicly funded organisations that pay it/run it for people to make it "free".
