@lupyuen The Pinephone ran Ubuntu Touch or UBP before the 3A was released. I hope that project dies a horrible death. No mention of the Pinephone but not failing to mention OnePlus.
The very first to both underwhelm me and infuriate me. No one would have cared about UBP if wasn't for the Pinephone. Furthermore it would be a dead project if it wasn't for the Pinephone. The original project ended as a miserable failure.
All hail the corporate overlords.

Maybe give it a listen.

@thendrix Like that grind set, sell licenses of grandma's voice to the family and her likeness. Gotta out Sigma big tech.
@thor Entrepreneur in this market? Here?
@GNUxeava @inference Make your mindset into grindset. Be too based and red pilled for that employer.

Id love a reason to go back to gentoo. What did you do?
@pete @inference @404zzz @thebiologist1117 @futureisfoss Window 2000 Professional was ugly but it was quick and mostly reliable. I remember ME and I loved it. Windows Media Player with internet radio and the malware taught me about system restore by using system restore to restore itself.
@inference @pete @404zzz @thebiologist1117 @futureisfoss Yes it was the first to have a MAC system. It wasn't that bad. Most people have never heard of Microsoft Unix so it could have been that bad.
@pete @futureisfoss @inference @404zzz @thebiologist1117 That brings back memories of Windows Vista refusing to update because it put itself in the wrong time zone.
@straw Makes changes to make a device easier to use. Changes how the device is used. A standard would be appreciated. At least Bluetooth is working better now.
@deprecated_ii @Terra_australis An adapter exists for that. It sounds like the additional plastic is a good insulator from heat and perhaps the SD card reader is acting like a heatsink. This is quite common. I can only suspect that it's not their problem.
@inference @404zzz @dushman @thebiologist1117 RISC-V is even getting something that should do the same thing.
The researchers found that the firmware loaded from UEFI and it turns out that AMD wasn't fully honest about PSP.
There's a rumor that Intel, AMD and ARM were included in SIGINT for the NSA.
@dushman @thebiologist1117 @inference @404zzz Sometimes the flaw is so severe that the device should be recalled but a quick patch is cheaper and doesn't damage a reputation much. I don't update firmware or microcode on some of my personal devices because I like to explore. I've discovered a few things but I never had the resources to fully take advantage of what I found.
It would be easier to develop an exploit than my goal of making it function with open source firmware.
I'm a very niche case. If I physically own something I should be able to make changes to it.
@dushman @thebiologist1117 @inference @404zzz Also to keep up to date with bugs and vulnerabilities. Like my old Fitbit fitness tracker keeping up to date and keeping fresh targeted advertisements. "Hot muscular bottoms dtf in your area." Going to the gym around 2200 every night might have helped the algorithm.
@inference @404zzz @dushman @thebiologist1117 I agree but some people like to explore. A flawed Lenovo Thinkpad UEFI allowed researchers to document what AMD's PSP was capable of.
@freedompatriot The last one could very well be true for both countries. Hospitals and nursing homes definitely did and they will likely not have to answer for it.
