@lore How does 130 Eurobux sound for a FPGA with built-in DSP functionally and 54k LUT4s? It's a lot cheaper if you only need 20k LUT4s. I love Shenzhen.

@lore PKK Milandir 1901ВЦ1Т might be a suitable or the Elbrus-90. The only problem is that they are Russian and the latter is used in the S-400 Missile Systems. Otherwise they should be able to kick AD to the curb for a lower cost.

Oddly enough I can't find Chinese equivalents. If you are willing to use a FPGA, I can possibly find something that is much closer to an acceptable price.

@thor I was doing research work for a University alongside a doctor but I didn't get any real benefits other than being highly regarded. The most successful research work I did was included in a friend's publication.

The University wouldn't even consider me despite my works. I did research work for them for around two years. None of the research was able to be completed due to lack of funds but I was promised to have my name directly next to the PhD's name. That goes back to when I was just a Mathematician assisting with something I found interesting.

My advice is this, start crowd funding accounts and self publish. You might have the opportunity to work with some very impressive people in the future. You aren't a hack and you seem to be a bit of a polymath. Give it time and remain flexible. I wouldn't recommend this if I didn't think you were capable.

@lore @PawelK When combined with the right components, they will rip and tear through data like nothing else. It can be a coprocessor when needed.

My FPGAs have capable MCUs onboard. RISC-V single core freaks with DSP functionally. Ideally I would be working with around four times the LUTS but it was the strongest available. It does have the Sodimm DDR3 form so I could potentially just use 4 of them. It's a rather strong performer. I think it's got around 1gb of quick memory.

Performance wise, it might be around the same as the Blackfin. I believe it can recreate a similar performing core and run an RTOS. Approximately 20k LUTs with decent memory speeds and capacity is nothing to sneeze at. A Mister FPGA could stomp it out but that's about it for lower end hardware.

@PawelK @hn100 The Waynes are comedy legends.

The TPM will continue to be problematic for AMD.

@lore Blackfin isn't that much newer than JavaScript. It's odd to think about.

@lore @PawelK Oh you don't have to go to school for it. It's a crime of passion or work of passion. It honestly depends.

@thendrix As long as they don't have blacklights, their customer base should be okay.

@lore I have a friend from there. They were once an infamous criminal but are now an honest tradesman.

@thor I have heard rumors of restaurants lacing food with methamphetamine. I'm pretty sure it's just the cooks being on a higher plane of existence that makes the food better.

@StampedingLonghorn @thor Good God I remember looking during the lockdown. Three states with no real jobs but the weather was fine and so were the sights ;).

@thor I'm referring to physical labor and heavy equipment work.
